HISTORY

İshakol Paints, being the first paint manufacturer of Turkey had a leading role in reaching to today’s modern standards. Süleyman İshakoğlu, a young entrepreneur who came from Çayeli, Rize during the years of World War I, founded “Ishakzade Biraderler” Company in Karaköy, Istanbul together with his elder brothers with the purpose of production and sales of paints.

After a difficult period of striving in years 1923-1924, the ownership of the company was passed over to Süleyman İshakoğlu when his brothers withdrew from partnership during the economic crisis in 1930’s.

In the year 1944 a factory, considered modern according to circumstances of the time, was established with machinery imported from Germany . Production of solvent and water based paints compatible in quality with those produced in Europe were manufactured in this plant.

In the 1950’s as a pioneer in his field in the young and fast developing Turkish Republic, Süleyman İshakoğlu established a larger manufacturing plant in Halıcıoğlu, expanding and improving his business.

In the 1960’s, after the addition of alkyd resin unit and evolving into an integrated plant, manufacturing of a larger variety of paints was decided. In 1970’s, the 3rd manufacturing plant was built on E-5 highway in Pendik, Istanbul, to meet the increasing needs of the market.

In 1984 we lost our precious founder, one of the rare, benevolent, special people raised in the Republic of Turkey. We, as İshakoğlu family and the staff and workers of ISHAKOL, take it as our duty to raise the company, which we inherited from Süleymen İshakoğlu, the initiator of the history of paint in Turkey, to highest position that it deserves and carry our founder’s name in to the future.

Ishakol Boya Sanayi A. Ş. presently continues its activities in its new plant in GOSB, (Gebze Organized Industrial Zone) placing great importance on product and service quality.
